FIREX-300  – fire retardant coating

1. FIELD OF APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES

Fire retardant coating “Firex-300” represents a heavy-bodied paste of light- or dark grey color based on non-organic binding agent with additives and inert fillers. Coating is used for increase of fire rating of air ducts, ventilation and smoke extraction systems.

2. NORMATIVE AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Coating based on fire retardant composition "Firex-300" ensures fire rating of air ducts, ventilation and smoke extraction systems up to 90 minutes (air duct with fire rating EI-90) in accordance with fire safety requirements stated in NPB 239-97 "Air ducts. Method of test on fire resistance" and SNiP 41-01-2003 "Heating, ventilation and air conditioning".

Certificate of fire safety ¹ SSPB.RU.UP001.V.05951

4. SURFACE TREATMENT

Coating should be applied on clean, non-coated with outher products or paint (non-primed) surface of outside wall of air ducts, ventilation systems and smoke extraction channels. Coating can be applied on galvanized surface. Dust and dirt should be removed by means of wet rags, grease and oil stains can be removed with solvent (solvent ¹ 646 is recommended). If application of solvent is not possible use the washing agents.

5. APPLICATION

Application conditions:

Ambient temperature - not less than +5 °Ñ;

Relative air humidity - not more than 80 %;

Temperature of surface for application of paint should be 3° above condensation point.

Application modes:

Application is performed mechanically by means of plastering machines (SO-154, SO-169) or manually by spatula.

Composition should be applied layer-by-layer. Apply 2-3 kg/m2 of product in one pass. Reinforcing material should be put above the first layer of composition just after its application. Second layer can be applied on top of the reinforcing material after 16-24 hours (depending on ambient temperature and air humidity). Next layers are applied with interlayer curing within 8-12 hours. Number of layers is calculated according to the required fire rating.

Final drying time of coating - 4-5 days, starting from the moment of application of last layer.

Cleaning of tools:

Wash the tools with water immediately after end of work.

6. OPERATING CONDITIONS AND LIFITIME OF COATING

Operation of coating in the enclosed premises without direct ingress of drop moisture.

Lifetime of coating not less than 10 years.

7. PACKAGING AND STORING

Fire retardant composition "Firex-300" is supplied in packaging of 40 kg.

Shelf life of fire retardant paint in the packaging of manufacturer - 4 months in dry place at temperature above +50Ñ.
