Fire-Retardant Paint "LEADER"

FIELD OF APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES

Fire-retardant paint "Leader" constitutes a two-component system consisting of the base (mixture of heat-resistant gas and foam forming fillers in epoxy) and hardener.

Coating based on fire-retardant paint "LEADER" is designed to uplift the fire resistance rating of metal  primed structures used under open-air and agressive conditions.

NORMATIVE AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Fire-retardant paint "LEADER" meets the requirements for III group of fire-proof efficiency with layer thickness of 2,5 mm. The paint based coating meets the requirements of Fire Regulations 236-97. It has fire safety certificate(ÑÑÏÁ.RU.ÎÏ.047.Â00526), GOST R certificate (ÐÎÑÑ.RU.Àß12.Í03852) and has a sanitary and epidemiological certificate (No. 77.01.03.231.Ï.043320.10.05).

APPLICATION METHOD

Surface treatment

- the surface should be cleaned from dust and dirt; corrosion can be removed by a sand-blast machine or manually, oil and grease stains (if any) can be removed with a solvent or detergent solution.

Procedure

-  the components should be mixed immediately before application in the ratio 20:1, base and hardener accordingly.

- pour the hardener into the pail containing the base, and stir thoroughly with an electric mixer equipped with a  turbulent-type paddle. After mixing remove the paint from the mixer paddle with a solvent (type Ð-646)

-  if necessay the paint base may be diluted with xylene (toluol) up to 10% of the total volume

-  the paint should be applied within 50-60 minutes as of treatment.

To avoid hardening of the paint in the container before application it is not recommended to pre-mix a big volume of paint!

Application of FR paint

The paint is applied by means of high-pressure airless spraying machine of "Wagner" type or manualy by means of a special brush, roller or putty knife.

The paint is applied by several layers with consumption of 0,75-1,1 kg/m2 per one later depending on the required thickness of the coating. Application conditions:

-  ambient temperature - not lower than +5 ºÑ;

-  relative humidity – not higher than 85 %.

Cleaning of the tools and equipment

After applicatin the tools and equipment should be thoroughly cleaned with solvent of Ð-646 type.

Safety Precautions

The paint should be applied and used only by qualified personnel!

The paint components are flammable.

CAUTION! The following is prohibited during application:

WELDING OPERATIONS,

USAGE OF THE MATERIAL IN THE VICINITY OF FIRE SOURCES AND FOODSTUFF!
