MONOLIT M1 – Fire-retardant composition

MONOLIT M1 – Fire-retardant composition

1. FIELD OF APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES

Fire-retardant composition "Monolit M1" is a combination of mineral binder and special-purpose additives and fillers.
Coating made of fire-retardant composition "Monolit M1" is designed to protect bearing metal primed structures. The coating neither cracks nor flakes from the surface, it can endure small deformation, impacts and other dynamic loads, it is tolerant to mechanical cleaning, agressive substances and special treatments, it does not contain asbestos and other substances considered harmful for health and environment.

2. NORMATIVE AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Fire-retardant composition "Monolit M1" corresponds to group 1 fire safety requirements stipulated by NPB 236-97 "Fire-retardant compositions for steel structures. General requirements. Method of fire safety effectiveness determination"; it can increase the fire rate of metal structures up to 240 minutes.
Fire safety certificate No. ÑÑÏÁ.RU.ÎÏ.019.Â.02138
Fire safety certificate No. ÑÑÏÁ.RU.ÎÏ.002.Â.02157

4. SURFACE TREATMENT

Coating should be applied on the primed load bearing metal structures (columns, joists, stiffeners, etc.). The recommended anticorrosion coatings: “GF-021” (glyptal based primer). Dust and dirt should be removed from the surface by means of wet rags, grease and oil stains can be removed with solvent (solvent ¹ 646 is recommended). If application of solvent is not possible use the washing agents.

5. APPLICATION

Application conditions
Ambient temperature should be not lower than +3 °Ñ;
Relative air humidity should be not more than 85%;
The temperature of the surface treated should be higher than dew point by not less than 3 °Ñ.
Application mode
The coating should be applied by means of priming machines (ÑÎ-154 À, Ò-103, ÌÀØ-1, ISO-P5). The machine should be supplied with composition "Monolit M1" and water in ratio of 1:1. This solution should be applied onto the surface of the structure in several passes depending on the required thickness of the fire-retardant coating.
Interlayer drying-out period amont to  2 - 6 hours depending on the ambient temperature and relative air humidity.
Cleaning of tools
The tools should be washed immediately after completion of application.

6. OPERATING CONDITIONS AND LIFETIME OF THE COATING

The coating may be used both indoor and outdoor. Operational temperature range is  -40…+40 °Ñ.
The lifetime of the coatingis not less than 50 years.

7. PACKING AND STORAGE

Fire-retardant composion "Monolit M1" is delivered in 30 kg bags.
Shekf life indoor is 1 year with relative humidity not more 85% and under temperature not higher than +40 °Ñ.
