OFP-NV (ESKALIBUR)  – fire retardant composition for steel constructions

1. FIELD OF APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES

Fire retardant composition «OFP-NV (ESKALIBUR)» representas a mixture of granulated mineral fiber and non-organic binding agent.
Coating based on fire retardant composition «OFP-NV (ESKALIBUR)» is used for increase of fire rating of metal constructions installed in the internal premises.

2. NORMATIVE AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Fire retardant composition «OFP-NV (ESKALIBUR)» meets the requirements for I group of fire-proof efficiency stated in NPB 236-97 "Fire-proof materials for steel constructions. General requirements. Method of determination of fire-proof efficiency" and can increase fire rating of metal constructions up to 240 minutes.

Certificate of fire safety ¹ SSPB.RU.OP019.V01718

Certificate of conformity ¹ ROSS RU.AY64.N02393

Hygiene certificate ¹ 77.01.03.576.P.006360.02.06

4. SURFACE TREATMENT

Coating should be applied on the primed load bearing metal constructions. The recommended anticorrosion coatings: “GF-021” (glyptal base primer), “Akrilak EP primer” (epoxy base primer). Dust and dirt should be removed from the surface by means of wet rags, grease and oil stains can be removed with solvent (solvent ¹ 646 is recommended). If application of solvent is not possible use the washing agents.

5. APPLICATION

Application conditions:

Ambient temperature - not less than +5 °Ñ;

Relative air humidity - not more than 85 %;

Temperature of surface for application of paint should be 3° above condensation point.

Layer of primer solution is to be applied prior to application of fire retardant composition «OFP-NV (ESKALIBUR)». Primer solution should be prepared by means of mixing polymer with water. Concentration of polymer in primer solution makes 25-30 mass%. Application of primer solution is performed by means of high pressure machines of airless spraying or manually by brush or roller. Fire retardant compund is to be applied on wet layer of primer solution.

Application modes:

Application is performed mechanically by means of gunning machines (ISO-40, ISO Mini Jet). Consumption of composition for layer of 10 mm thickness makes 2.5 kg/m2, excl. losses. Required thickness of layer is reached in one pass according to the required fire rating. Final drying time - 7 days. If it is necessary to increase waterproofing properties or due to design requirements it is allowed to apply enamel of thickness 50-70 micron after preliminary smoothing of surface.

Cleaning of tools:

Wash the tools with water immediately after end of work.

6. OPERATING CONDITIONS AND LIFITIME OF COATING

Operation temperature:  from -50 0Ñ to +50 0Ñ

Operation of coating in the enclosed premises with relative humidity not more than 90%. Avoid direct ingress of moisture on the coating.

Lifetime of coating is not limited.

7. PACKAGING AND STORING

Fire retardant composition «OFP-NV (ESKALIBUR)» is supplied in bags of 25 kg.

Shelf life of fire retardant paint in the packaging of manufacturer - 1 year in dry place at temperature above +50Ñ.
