KL-1 – fire-retardant paint

1. FIELD OF APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES
The fire-retardant paint is a suspensioncontaining heat-resistant,gas and foam formingfillers withnon-organic additivesin polyacrylate dispersion.
Under high temperaturethe coating formsfoamy layer,preventing fire from penetrating into the cable jacket. The coating is designed to protectthe cable layerfrom inflammation and fire spread.
Fire-retardant paint "KL-1"is ecologically friendly,non-toxic, and fire- and explosion-proof.

4. SURFACE TREATMENT

Forapplication of the coating the surface should be clean and dry. The dust and dirtshould be removedby wet cloth. Grease and oil stains should be removed by a solvent (it is recommended to use solvent No. 646). If a solvent is impermissible, detergent solutions, spirits and spirit solutionscan be used.

5. APPLICATION

Application conditions.

Ambient temperature -not less than+5 °;
Relative air humidity-not more than85 %;

Application method.
The material should be applied either byhigh-pressure airless spraying deviceswith plunger pump («WAGNER HC 55 E», GRACO) or manually by means of a brush or roller.
Before application the paint should be thoroughly mixed with electric mixer for 3 - 5 minutes. The fire-retardant paint should be applied in several layers. The thickness of the first layer should be 200-250 micron in wet condition which corresponds to 150-200 micron in dry condition. The thickness of the subsequent layers should be 300-400 micron (upon the wet layer). When the thicknes ofa drylayer is 0.1 mm, the consumption should be 0,14-0,22kg/m2.

The interlayer dry-out period amounts to:

- not less than 4 hours after application of the first layer;
- not less than2 hours after application of the second layer.
The final dry-out period is 2-3 days.
The number of fire-retardant paint layersis determinedon the basis of the requiredthickness of the fire-retardant coating.

Cleaning of tools.
Tools should be washed immediately after application.

6.OPERATING CONDITIONS AND LIFE TIME OF THE COATING

The coatingcan be used indoor. Avoiddirect condensed moisture.
Operational temperature: -50 Ѡup to +50
Operation period of the coatingamounts to not less than15 years.

7.PACKINGAND STORAGE

Fire-retardant paint "KL-1" is supplied inmetal 25 kg pails.

The storage periodof the paintin dry conditionsunder temperaturenot less than+5 Ѡin manufacturer's packing amounts to 1 year.
